Williams Jet Tenders, the world’s leading jet tender manufacturer, has teamed up with Spared, a start-up by Volume Creative, to embark on an eco-friendly initiative at the upcoming Düsseldorf International Boat Show in January 2024.

Spared, commissioned by Williams, took on the responsibility of cleaning and chipping the plastic waste, transforming it into exquisite tabletops that will be showcased at the event. The initiative reflects Williams’ commitment to sustainability, highlighting how waste can be transformed into extraordinary products rather than contributing to environmental challenges.

Tom Dowdell, Head of Marketing at Williams Jet Tenders, emphasised the significance of this collaboration, stating, “We are conscious that exhibitions are among the worst sectors for the environment, and we are working hard to reduce our overall impact. This collaboration with Spared is an example of our commitment and proves waste can be an opportunity to produce something extraordinary, rather than having to buy new.”

Spared, a start-up by Volume Creative, is driven by a commitment to support brands in reusing their own waste in their own environments. Volume Creative, appointed as brand guardians to Williams in 2022, played a pivotal role in developing Williams’ brand assets. With a focus on reusing waste, Spared aims to provide innovative solutions to address the global issue of 2.12 billion tons of waste ending up in landfills each year.

“This collaboration with Williams is a testament to the transformative power of conscious initiatives. By repurposing plastic waste into stunning tabletops, we showcase the potential for waste to be spared from landfills and given another life as something beautiful, said Callie Tedder-Hares, Founding Partner and Creative Director at Spared and Volume Creative.

This marks the second project between Spared and Williams Jet Tenders. In a previous initiative, Williams utilised seafood shell waste to produce 50 marine-inspired pencil pots. These aesthetically crafted pencil pots, gifted to selected partners and suppliers of Williams, not only served as unique keepsakes but also contributed to environmental conservation efforts. As part of its commitment, Williams will include an end-of-year donation to the Blue Marine Foundation.
