General Description:
The Warehouse Team Leader reports to the Logistics Manager and is responsible for supervising a team working in the warehouse. The appointee will be required to deputising for the Logistics Manager.
Main Duties:
Assist in the management of the below activities but not limited to:
- Supervise, coordinate, and support a team of Logistics operatives.
- Hold weekly stand up meetings with the stores operatives to detail objectives, priorities and business communication.
- Enforce health and safety regulations and operates per company health and safety procedures and ensure the team follows best practices.
- Monitor and manage the storage, kitting and dispatch of goods and materials.
- Ensure stock levels are accurately maintained and recorded in the inventory management system.
- Ensures strict adherence and implementation of FIFO. Paying particular attention to the product life cycle by rotation of mouldings, engines, adhesives, Electrical and general consumable products
- Conduct regular stock counts and assist with audits.
- Allocate tasks and monitor team performance to ensure KPIs and deadlines are met.
- Report and investigate discrepancies or damages in stock or deliveries.
- Ensure Kits are correctly allocated and processed in WJTs operating systems.
- Assist with training new team members and upskilling existing staff.
- Liaise with procurement, production, Composites and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse areas.
- Undertakes problem solving and other tasks as directed by the Logistics Manager.
- Be visible on the floor to support the team and queries relating to the production lines.
- Where required drive FLTs to support the team in moving goods and acting as an additional member on the floor during holidays or busy periods
- Manage offsite storage ensuring the space is fully utilised in the correct way and stock rotation is happening
- Work with the Logistics Manager to ensure all servicing/testing is complete on any mechanical aids requiring it. Ensure failures in any are managed to ensure downtime is at a minimum
Ancillary Duties:
To carry out such tasks and duties as may be required from time to time by senior management in accordance with the companies operating procedures and policies.
Strict adherence and implementation of the health and safety at works act is an essential part of the post. A close working relationship with other members of staff, particularly those in the Production department is essential to ensure customer satisfaction is met.
Level of Accountability:
The appointee is responsible for the storage and accuracy of stock within his/her designated area of responsibility.
Qualifications and Experience:
Demonstrate experience in a leadership role.
The appointee must be computer literate.
Forklift licence, but company will provide training if required.
To have the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
The appointee will be educated to a good standard, with English and Mathematics
GCSE.
The candidate must have experience of Warehouse/Logistics procedures,
preferably gained in a manufacturing environment.
Previous team management experience is required
