Team Leader – Finishing

 

General Description:

  • The Team Leader role requires you to have a “hands on” approach to lead the teams circa. 10 direct reports, responsible for the finishing of GRP products.
  • Overseeing all aspects of the finishing process and mould tool preparation stages within the Composites Department. Manage team performance and offline metrics, collaborate with stakeholders to optimise workflow and efficiency.

 

Main Duties:

  • Manage and motivate a team of GRP finishing specialists, ensuring efficiency of workflow and high-quality output is achieved.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement.  Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting open communication and problem-solving within the team and wider Composites department.
  • Oversee all stages of finishing process, from efficient use of materials and procurement through our internal ordering system through to final inspection and quality control, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards are maintained.
  • Participate and contribute in weekly team planning meetings, focussing on scheduling and performance in addition to providing insights and recommendations from the finishing team’s perspective.
  • Generate and present reports to management highlighting areas for improvement and team progress, as required.
  • Set KPI’s for finishing team together with monitoring individual performance through regular appraisals.
  • Implement data-driven initiatives to enhance team efficiency and maximise potential.

 

Ancillary Duties:

  • To carry out such tasks and duties as may be required from time to time by Senior Management in accordance with the companies operating procedures and policies.
  • Strict adherence and implementation of the health and safety at works act is an essential part of the post.
  • Promote the company values within the team and ensure company code of conduct and ethics are being maintained.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Manufacturing process control experience.
  • Proven team management and leadership experience in similar working environment.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines, and being proficient in data analysis and reporting, with effective communication skills.
  • A collaborative and solution-orientated approach to problem solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across
