Laminator

General Description:

As a Laminator you will be working in a team environment where you will work on a range of our products using your laminating skills to carry out the required lay-up specifications.

Main Duties:

  • Maintain mould tools in a production ready state and liaise with tool prep
  • Prepare moulds ready for laminating
  • Application of gel coat
  • Use of hand tools
  • Identify laminating defects
  • Use of core materials and generic bonding pastes
  • Release of simple moulds
  • Ensure correct completion of component tracking information and other related documentation such as temperature, humidity and material batch control numbers
  • Monitor and maintain all related tools and equipment in a safe and useable state, work with our facilities team to maintain records of tools and service interval schedules
  • Liaise with the Company’s Technical and Quality departments as and when required with the aim of constant improvement to documentation, process controls and components
  • Maintain production facility in a clean and orderly state, ensuring regular tidy up is carried out and workplace left clean at end of each shift
  • Ensure strict adherence to the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and operate in accordance with all other company policies and procedures.  Ensure correct use and storage of PPE.

Ancillary Duties:

  • To carry out such tasks and duties as may be required from time to time by Senior Management in accordance with the companies operating procedures and policies.
  • Strict adherence and implementation of the health and safety at works act is an essential part of the post.  A close working relationship with other members of staff is essential to ensure customer satisfaction is met.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A thorough understanding of GRP laminating and associated processes including those mentioned above which may include trimming and grinding.  Good understanding of quality processes, 2+ years experience gained with the Marine, Aerospace, Automotive or other quality driven industry is preferable.
