Company History

A shared pastime of building wooden boats led brothers Mathew and John Hornsby to found Williams Marine in 1995. The business was initially based in their mother’s garden shed – who also provided her maiden name, Williams, as the company name. Specialising in the production of handcrafted cold moulded wooden powerboats, they quickly established a reputation in the marine industry for producing craft of the highest standard.

In 2004 business partner Roy Parker joined the team and Williams Performance Tenders was founded. The three entrepreneurs applied their design and engineering knowledge to the development and construction of a new range of Turbojet tenders, and since that time the company has become the world’s leading jet tender specialists having developed the first 4-stroke jet tenders.

The company now employs 38 staff and is supported by a team of factory trained engineers in twenty four European locations, and in key worldwide markets such as Australia, Dubai, North America, Hong Kong, Brazil and Russia.

Williams Quality Support

Williams worldwide network of dealers gives our customers the support they need wherever they are boating. Stretching from Hong Kong, through the Middle East and the Mediterranean to the America’s, our dealer network has been factory trained in all aspects of the Williams product. Stocks of more commonly used spare parts are kept in these locations, and other parts are normally available ex stock in the UK or Germany for shipping worldwide.
